The State Library is a permanent depository for state publications documenting the work of the Rhode Island General Assembly and all State government departments and agencies.


The State Library holds over 100,000 publications in print and electronic format. Some of the most highly utilized volumes from our collection include:

The State Library is statutorily responsible to distribute state publications to a group of Rhode Island depository libraries to ensure wide public access to state information. Participating libraries include:
