To register as a Foreign Non-Profit Corporation in Rhode Island, your entity name must be distinguishable from any name on file in this office.
If your entity name is not distinguishable from an entity name on file in this office or if you choose to conduct business under another name, also known as a “Fictitious Name,” you will need to file a Fictitious Business Name Statement (Form 626) for an additional fee of $20. Please complete the Fictitious Business Name Online Request Form to start that process.

A registered agent must have a Rhode Island street address and must be available at the given address during normal business hours to accept service of process. P.O. Boxes or shipping/postal company addresses (including virtual business addresses) do not meet this standard and are not allowed.
