Want to Be a State House Tour Guide?
We are offering Rhode Islanders with a yen for public service the chance to take visitors behind the scenes at the State House.
We thoroughly train every volunteer. Our tour guides range in age from young people looking to build a resume to senior citizens hoping to get involved in a worthwhile endeavor.
More than 10,000 visitors a year go on our tours. They even get a peek at one of the state's most historic documents - the Royal Charter of 1663. Granted by King Charles II, the charter guaranteed Rhode Island settlers freedom of religion and the freedom to govern their own colony.
