Visitors are welcome to take non-flash, personal-use photography. No photographs or videotapes may be reproduced, distributed or sold without permission from the Office of the Rhode Island Secretary of State. Movie and video cameras are prohibited and photography is for non-commercial use only.
Smoking of any kind is not permitted anywhere in the Rhode Island State House.
Open food and drink may not be carried through the building and no drinking or eating is allowed while on a tour.
Lost and Found
If you lose any items while visiting the State House, please visit the State House Capitol Police stationed inside the building's main front door entrance and the upper parking lot entrance for assistance.
Cell phone usage
Cell phones are permitted to be carried while taking a tour and may be used as a camera with no flash. Please turn all cell phones to vibrate or low tone and avoid talking on a cell phone while on a tour unless absolutely necessary or the call is of an emergency nature.
Wheelchairs are available free of charge and are located inside the upper parking lot entrance to the building. The Capitol Police stationed at the entrance will be able to assist in obtaining a wheelchair. All floors in the building are wheelchair accessible.
If you require first aid during your visit, please visit the State House Capitol Police stationed inside the building's main front door entrance and the upper parking lot entrance for assistance.
